At Bond It, we believe responsible manufacturing starts with people.
We're proud to announce that we've successfully completed our SMETA Ethical Audit, an internationally recognised assessment of labour standards and health & safety that demonstrates our commitment to employee wellbeing, ethical business practices and operating responsibly across every area of our business.
As a SEDEX Supplier Plus member, successfully completing the SEDEX audit provides customers, suppliers and partners with independent assurance that Bond It continues to uphold high standards while supporting a transparent and responsible supply chain.
What is SEDEX Supplier Plus?
SMETA is an independent ethical audit that assesses areas such as labour standards and health & safety.
SEDEX Supplier Plus is an enhanced membership that enables businesses to share their ethical credentials with customers and supply chain partners, demonstrating a commitment to transparency, responsible business practices and continuous improvement.
Building a People First Culture
While passing the SMETA audit is an important milestone, it represents much more than policies and procedures.
Unlike many audits, the SMETA process includes confidential interviews with employees, allowing auditors to understand what it's really like to work at Bond It. Rather than simply reviewing documentation, they speak directly with our people to ensure our workplace culture reflects the values and standards we promote every day.
That's what makes this achievement particularly meaningful. It independently validates the culture we've worked hard to build, where employee well being, inclusion, respect and continuous improvement are part of everyday working life.
A Whole Team Achievement
Preparing for the audit involved teams from across Bond It coming together to review documentation, validate processes and demonstrate the standards we maintain throughout the year.
Because SMETA audits are semi-announced, businesses receive very little notice before the assessment takes place. Rather than preparing for a single inspection, organisations must consistently maintain safe working environments, strong labour standards and ethical ways of working every day.
This achievement is only possible because of the commitment shown by colleagues across every department.
Special thanks go to Joe Gibson for coordinating the audit, alongside Gill Hemsworth, Chelsea Clegg and Karen Bird, who played a key role in preparing for and supporting the process.
We'd also like to thank our managers for continuing to create a positive and supportive workplace where people feel valued, respected and empowered.
Most importantly, thank you to every member of the Bond It team. This achievement belongs to everyone.
Supporting Responsible Manufacturing and Ethical Business
Successfully completing our SMETA audit strengthens Bond It's position as a responsible manufacturer and reinforces our commitment to ethical business practices, employee well being and continuous improvement.
The SMETA audit also supports our wider sustainability journey, alongside our Carbon Neutral Britain certification and ongoing EcoVadis assessment, demonstrating our commitment to responsible manufacturing and continuous improvement.
Continuing Our Commitment to Responsible Manufacturing
Achieving the SMETA audit is an important milestone, but it's not the finish line.
We'll continue investing in our people, strengthening our culture and looking for new ways to improve the experience of our employees, customers and partners.
As we continue to grow, our focus remains the same: creating a workplace where people thrive, maintaining the highest standards of responsible manufacturing and ensuring Bond It remains a trusted partner for customers throughout the supply chain.
