Sustainability is an increasing priority across the construction and building materials industry. At Bond It, this is addressed through continuous improvements in manufacturing processes, materials, and product development — with the aim of reducing environmental impact while maintaining the high standards customers expect.
Rather than relying on a single solution, Bond It takes a holistic approach to sustainability, focusing on long-term, practical changes that deliver cumulative benefits across the business.
Recent investment at Bond It’s West Yorkshire production facility has focused on improving efficiency and minimising waste. Upgrades to the powder plant now allow cementitious products, including tanking slurries and self-levelling compounds, to be manufactured more efficiently, with improved reliability and reduced downtime.
In addition, new machinery has been introduced to support the production of specialist acid-based cleaning products. This includes a fume-scrubbing system that captures acidic vapours generated during manufacture and converts them into a reusable solution. This process reduces waste while lowering reliance on virgin raw materials.
Alongside manufacturing improvements, Bond It continues to evolve its product range with sustainability at the forefront. Product development considers yield, formulation, packaging and performance, ensuring improvements do not compromise real-world results.
Recent additions include Breeze Block Foam, designed to maintain airtight seals while accommodating movement, helping to reduce heat loss and improve energy efficiency, and MGF Ultra Yield, which delivers up to 55 litres of foam from a 500ml canister — reducing packaging waste by requiring fewer canisters per application.
Bond It has also introduced Bamboo Wipes, made from renewable, plant-based materials and fully biodegradable, providing a sustainable alternative to traditional plastic-based wipes.
From UK manufacturing and renewable energy use at its facilities to increased use of post-consumer recycled plastics in packaging, sustainability is embedded across Bond It’s operations. By combining efficiency, innovation and responsibility, the business continues to support merchants, trade professionals and end users with building chemicals that perform reliably while delivering improved environmental credentials.
