Bond It reaches Level 3 in Data Yard product data project

Bond It reaches Level 3 in Data Yard product data project

Bond It has reached Level 3 of the Data Yard product data journey, marking an important milestone in the ongoing development of our digital product information.

The project was brought to the forefront at Bond It by Dean Morgan, Chief Operating Officer, recognising the growing importance of accurate, consistent and accessible product data across the building materials supply chain.

Since then, Kirstie Cooper and Sam Birt have worked extensively on the project, developing and enriching Bond It’s product information to successfully reach Level 3.

What is Data Yard?

Data Yard is the UK building materials industry's product data exchange, providing a central platform where suppliers can publish structured product data once and make it available consistently to authorised merchants, buying groups and technology systems.

For manufacturers such as Bond It, this creates a more efficient way of managing and distributing product information, reducing duplicated work while helping merchants access consistent, reliable data.

What does Level 3 mean?

Level 3 – Enriched – goes beyond core product and logistical information to include the content required for print and basic digital trading, such as selling descriptions, product features and benefits, additional imagery, datasheets and installation instructions.

For Bond It, reaching this stage means creating a richer, more structured source of product information that can support our merchant partners and the increasingly digital way in which construction products are specified, marketed and purchased.

Data Yard describes its approach as “Publish Once. Distribute Everywhere” – with supplier information structured and validated before authorised merchants can access the approved data.

Reaching Level 3 represents significant progress, but the Data Yard framework is designed around continuous improvement, with further levels covering environmental data and full ETIM classification.

A huge well done to Kirstie and Sam for the work involved in reaching this milestone, and to Dean for driving the project forward within Bond It.
