Princes Dock Development, Liverpool, UK

Princes Dock Development, Liverpool, UK

Job size: 4,000m²
Products used: Geo-Fix
Completion: Large-scale phased installation

The challenge

The Princes Dock development required extensive hard landscaping using sawn granite, textured granite and granite setts across more than 4,000m².

A key requirement from the project architects was to retain the character and integrity of the original dockland materials. Much of the existing granite cobbles were lifted, recycled and reworked into new setts, with additional paving sourced from the same quarry to ensure consistency of colour and texture.

The jointing solution needed to deliver long-term durability while preserving the natural appearance of the stone and minimising future maintenance in a busy commercial environment.

Why Bond It

Geo-Fix was specified as it provides a permanent, durable jointing solution without compromising the appearance of natural stone.

Unlike traditional jointing methods, Geo-Fix enhances the finished look of paving while offering clear cost-in-use and maintenance advantages, making it suitable for a high-profile commercial development.

Application on site

Granite paving and setts were laid across the dockland areas before Geo-Fix was applied to permanently joint the surfaces.

The product allowed the contractor to complete the jointing efficiently while maintaining consistent results across a large and varied area. The finished joints complemented the natural stone rather than distracting from it, which was critical to meeting the design intent.

The result

  • Clean, professional joint finish across 4,000m²

  • Preserved the natural appearance of recycled and new granite

  • Durable, low-maintenance solution suitable for heavy foot traffic

  • Met both contractor and architectural expectations

Geo-Fix delivered a long-term jointing solution that balanced practical site requirements with visual performance.
