The challenge

An existing flat roof had two layers of felt with a solar reflective coating that had started to fail after years of exposure. Flaking, ageing and poor weather resistance meant a full re-cover was needed — without the cost of a traditional strip and replace.

Why Bond It

Seal It Liquid Membrane was chosen as it could be applied directly over the existing surface, required no specialist training, and offered long-term UV and weather resistance.

Application on site

After clearing debris and moss, the roof was primed using a lambswool roller. Seal It Membrane was then applied in a single 1mm coat using a standard squeegee.
The entire 16m² area was completed in one day.

Despite heavy rain starting around 10 hours after application, the membrane had already cured and bonded fully to the substrate, with no impact on performance or finish.
